PDI Maximo–Bentley Integration Library is a Packaged Integration Solution powered by Informatica IDMC CAI that automates Maximo Work Order events → Bentley ALIM document discovery → Maximo link-back, with repeatable deployment, monitoring, and operational runbooks built in.
PDI Maximo–Bentley Integration Library
Accelerate Maximo ↔ Bentley ALIM Integration with Packaged Integration Library
Why PDI Packaged Integration Library
Market Challenges
Organizations integrating IBM Maximo with Bentley ALIM often face significant operational challenges, including:
- Manual document search that slows maintenance and increases rework
- Brittle custom integrations that break across environments and upgrades
- Long delivery cycles due to one-off builds and heavy testing effort
- Limited traceability when logs and correlation IDs aren’t standardized
- Support burden due to inconsistent error handling and missing runbooks
To address these challenges, teams need a pre-packaged integration library that is configurable, repeatable, and supportable.
How the PDI Maximo–Bentley Integration Library works
PDI Solution: Maximo–Bentley Integration Library
PDI’s Packaged Integration Library is built on Informatica IDMC Cloud Application Integration (CAI). It listens to Maximo Work Order create/update events, uses CAI orchestration to call Bentley ALIM REST APIs for related asset document discovery, and automatically links curated document metadata back to the Work Order in Maximo.
The solution includes standardized traceability/auditability/evidence logging (to a customer-approved audit store; Snowflake optional) and repeatable DEV/TEST/PROD deployment runbooks for consistent promotion.
Key Features:
- Work Order Event Router: Standard entry point for WO triggers (create/update)
- ALIM Document Discovery: Parallel search by asset/location/job type/document type
- Maximo Link-Back: Updates WO with document metadata/links (OSLC/REST)
- Integration Audit Logger: Correlation IDs + event traces for evidence/traceability (Snowflake optional)
- Standard REST Utility: Unified retries, throttling, and error handling
- Repeatable Packaging: Delivered as a deployable package (e.g., /car / repo) with environment mapping
PDI Solution Benefits
By leveraging the PDI Maximo–Bentley Integration Library, organizations gain the following benefits:
- Faster time-to-value: packaged components reduce custom build effort
- 6-8 weeks go-live option: accelerated rollout using pre-built Library and runbooks
- Lower delivery risk: standardized patterns reduce defects and rework
- Improved technician productivity: documents appear on the WO where work happens
- Operational readiness built in: monitoring + runbooks reduce L1/L2 support burden
- Consistent evidence logging: traceability across transactions and environments
Feedback From Customers

“Migrating to IDMC from Informatica PowerCenter ensured a seamless transition of our decades of data integration workload into a modern administration-free platform with better performance. We were able to harness our team’s extensive experience with Informatica low code, no code products and retool our employee base with relative ease. The migration factory from Informatica and the Data Validation Framework from PDI, our chosen System Integrator, ensured we didn't have to change any of our business logic and validate the data in an automated and auditable way using the new cloud platform.
A migration of this scale was not a small and easy one. But PDI who worked on it were always ready to be flexible as and when we requested. This team went beyond their commitment and delivered this project within the timelines we wanted them to complete, and this does not happen very often. We are fortunate to have worked with this amazing TEAM PDI who delivered what they promised”
